This publication applies to the use of spare parts designed and manufactured in accordance with the RCC-M and is intended for the MPS (CPP) or MSS (CSP) of PWRs subject to the French regulations.
Under these regulations, when using a spare part, the Owner is required to ensure that safety-related changes to the RCC-M code used when designing and manufacturing said part do not affect the part’s suitability for operation from a safety perspective.
To this end, and up to and including the 2018 edition of the RCC-M, the modification sheets (MS) introduced to the code have been classified according to their impact on safety (sheets classified as A), regulatory impact (sheets classified as R), and changes in industrial practices (sheets classified as B).
The table below shows the classifications for RCC-M modification sheets issued up to the 2018 edition of the RCC-M.
Starting with the 2020 edition of the RCC-M, the classification of the code’s MS is set out in document AFCEN-PTAN-07001-2023 (revised with each new edition), using equivalent methodology and criteria.
