Design and construction rules for electrical and I&C systems and equipment
Purpose and scope
In combination with a Book of Project Data, the RCC-E constitutes a series of stipulations for the electrical and I&C systems and equipment of a pressurized water electro-nuclear reactor that shall be drawn up by a Client in order to guarantee safety in:
• the design of the nuclear facilities,
• the construction of the nuclear facilities,
• the design of the equipment,
• the qualification of the equipment,
• the manufacturing of the equipment (including spare parts and repairs),
• the installation of the equipment on site,
• the maintenance of the nuclear facilities.
Volume I presents the general points, and in particular, the requirements applying to the Quality Management System.
Volume II presents the general requirements applying to the safety of the nuclear facilities in particular.
Volumes III and IV present the requirements applying to I&C systems and electrical systems respectively.
Volumes V and VI respectively address equipment engineering, and in particular its qualification, and layout engineering.
Volume VII describes the inspection and test methods to be carried out.
All the stipulations are identified in the RCC-E by a number beside the stipulation.
The RCC-E can be applied to nuclear facilities other than electro-nuclear pressurized water power plants.
The 2022 edition is the most recent version, a Book of Project Data and a technical publication, "Nuclear Codes & Standards: RCC-E Gap analysis with the RCC-E 2019", accompany this edition.
